Chapter 8, Part V: A Decent Proposal

Before making their way to hunt the cat in Doumshar, the group accompanied BOJO to prepare him for his proposal to Hildar. They bought a large quantity of meat at the grocer for Nohki's 20-layer Florkclift, where Vance skillfully haggled for a deal. As they headed out, the group noticed that BOJO was getting easily winded and helped him carry the goods instead.

Nohki performed a medicine check and discovered that BOJO likely had a couple of points of exhaustion. He recalled that the poison BOJO had encountered during the battle on the Poison Veil was extremely deadly, making his survival a remarkable feat.

Next, they headed to a thrift store to acquire a ring. They found a used Ring of Shooting Stars with three charges, while Tagg purchased a ring of misty step. Outside the shop, Hildar saw Junior and the gang. She insisted on taking BOJO home, and he agreed, having used up his dwindled stores of energy on the shopping adventure.

Meanwhile, Drez headed to The Stacks, a rotating hydroponic farming system that was made to fit more agriculture into a smaller space than would have otherwise been possible, in search of flowers for a bouquet. Nohki discussed his plan to use plant growth to enhance the area around the hill for BOJO. The farmer showed Drez a brilliant purple flower called an indigo comet. He explained that it was a symbol of everlasting love and that it only grew in Gragthar-- specifically the area around Brimhold and Marshwyle. He wrapped the flowers in a silk scarf for Drez and took payment for the purchase.

They also purchased a good bottle of champagne, ensuring not to spend BOJO's money. They wanted to get him a nice gift and the champagne seemed like a good choice. They headed to Hildar's parents' home to check on BOJO. Tagg, Drez, Nohki, and Vance headed upstairs to see BOJO, and Hildar took Nohki to teach him how to make a stew. Although BOJO was still looking a bit haggard, Tagg assured him that once he recovered, they could proceed with the proposal.

The group then traveled via the large industrial elevator to the Underdark, hoping to take the railway for fast and safe passage to the northmost town of Doumshar. Along the way, they stopped by the Obscurex and registered for the AGI Battle Royale, a world-wide tournament where AGI Parties would be randomly assigned to battle one another to obtain Victor Stamps. There were 11 coliseums across the world, each dedicated to a domain deity, with the final championship battle taking place at the Warden's Coliseum in Platinum City for any team who had managed to collect all 11 of the stamps. The Platinum Talons were eager to fight, and faced the Tough Tinkerers in the Obscurex arena, which was dedicated to Nocturne, god of shadows. The Platinum Talons took down the tinkerers and claimed their first Victor Stamp, before heading off to the rail station in the north of the Underdark town.
